Heavy Equipment Operation / Earthworks | Experienced | 14 and 7 Rotation
You will run crawler dozers on stripping, spreading, road building, and reclamation work in the Fort McMurray region. This is steady, year-round work with a defined rotation and a long-term project schedule, not a short-term call out.What You'll Do
- Operate crawler dozers for stripping, spreading, grading, and reclamation work
- Push and spread overburden, muskeg, sand, and clay to design grade
- Build and maintain haul roads, ramps, laydown areas, and berms
- Cut slopes and finish grade to survey stakes or GPS machine control
- Support excavator and shovel faces and keep working areas clean and drained
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and equipment logs
- Perform winter work including snow clearing, frost stripping, and road maintenance
- Communicate by radio with haul truck, water truck, and ground crews
- Participate in toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and field level risk assessments
- Minimum 3 years dozer experience, D8 class or larger preferred for mine work
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
- CSTS-2020 or CSTS-09 and Standard First Aid, or willingness to obtain before start
- Ability to work a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation on 12 hour shifts
- Ability to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
- Comfortable working outdoors in all Alberta weather conditions
- Strong safety record and willingness to follow all site specific procedures
- Large dozer experience on D10 or D11 class machines
- Experience with GPS or machine control grading systems
- Previous oil sands site experience north of Fort McMurray
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO) and regional site orientations already in place
- H2S Alive and Ground Disturbance Level 2
- Winter road, ice road, or frost stripping experience
- Active industrial and mine site environment with continuous heavy equipment traffic
- Outdoor work in extreme cold, heat, dust, and variable ground conditions
- Full personal protective equipment required at all times, including fire retardant clothing
- Site access requires pre-access testing and site specific orientation
