About the Role
Atlantic Paint & Flooring is looking for a hands-on Store Manager who enjoys sales, leading people, and building a high-performing team. This is not a back-office management role. Approximately 75% of your time is spent serving customers, generating sales, coaching employees, and leading by example on the sales floor, with the remaining time focused on planning, inventory, operations, and team leadership.
The ideal candidate has experience in retail management, sales management, customer service, inventory control, and employee coaching. Experience in the paint, flooring, construction, hardware, or home improvement industry is an asset but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily retail store operations
- Coach, train, and develop Sales Advisors
- Deliver exceptional customer service and sales leadership
- Drive retail sales, average transaction value, and project lead generation
- Manage daily store performance and KPIs
- Forecast sales and develop action plans to achieve targets
- Manage inventory, purchasing, cycle counts, and stock accuracy
- Oversee merchandising and store presentation
- Manage assigned commercial and contractor accounts
- Review accounts receivable and customer account health
- Ensure accurate order fulfillment, colour matching, and delivery coordination
- Oversee store equipment, vehicles, and facility maintenance
- Recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop team members
- Resolve customer concerns professionally
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive workplace
Qualifications
- 3+ years of retail management or sales management experience
- Proven leadership and coaching experience
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing inventory and purchasing
- Comfortable reviewing sales reports, KPIs, and business performance
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's licence
