Your mission:

As the Accounting Manager at Reliable Controls, you will be responsible for leading the organization's Accounting function, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information to support regulatory compliance and business decision making. You'll focus on full-cycle accounting across multiple entities, cash flow management and cost accounting; with oversight of risk management and internal controls to ensure compliant accounting and tax practices.

Reporting to the VP, Finance & Administration, you will work closely with senior leadership, department managers, external consultants, and business partners to provide actionable financial insights. This role offers the opportunity to influence business strategy, lead and develop a high-performing finance department, drive process improvements, and play a key role in supporting the organization's continued growth and success.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the Accounting team while overseeing full-cycle accounting across multiple entities.
  • Own the month-end close process, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial reporting packages, and lead the annual year-end review process.
  • Ensure compliance with ASPE, tax, payroll, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements while maintaining strong internal controls and accounting practices.
  • Manage and continuously improve the company's cost and inventory accounting processes, including product costing, labor utilization, overhead allocation, and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business planning that enables strategic decision-making.
  • Support in the implementation and optimization of the Epicor ERP system, helping shape financial processes and drive operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, implement new accounting standards, and support the adoption of new business systems as the organization evolves.
  • Build strong relationships across departments and with external accounting and tax partners to support informed business decisions.

This role might be right for you if you have:

  • CPA designation.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public practice and manufacturing environments.
  • A strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing operations, and key financial drivers.
  • A collaborative leadership style built on trust, accountability, and open communication, with experience empowering high-performing teams.

You'll be successful in this position if you:

  • Have experience implementing, optimizing, or working with ERP systems, ideally Epicor, in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excel at financial analysis and problem-solving, using data to drive informed business decisions.
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, purchasing, executive leadership, and external business partners.
  • Thrive in a changing environment and enjoy improving processes, building structure, and driving meaningful change.

What we offer:

Competitive Compensation & Rewards: Your hard work and dedication don't go unnoticed. We offer:

  • A competitive extended health and dental plan for you and your family
  • A yearly RRSP contribution on the company's behalf, plus employee contribution matching to support your financial growth
  • An annual profit sharing bonus that recognizes your contributions to our growth
  • A salary that is based on market data and reviewed annually, with merit increases and cost-of-living adjustments
