Senior Software Developer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer (Full Stack) with 7+ years of commercial software development experience to join their team in Oakville. In this role, you will lead the modernization of core diagnostic platforms, drive technical architecture decisions, and develop scalable software solutions that integrate with hardware systems and cloud services. Immediate Hire What We Offer - Competitive compensation package ($120,000 - $135,000) - Hybrid work environment - 3 weeks' vacation to start - Comprehensive benefits from day one - RRSP matching up to $2,500 annually (eligible after 3 months) Responsibilities: - Lead the architecture, modernization, and enhancement of core diagnostic and monitoring platforms. - Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications, microservices, and hardware-integrated solutions. - Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and support communication protocols such as gRPC and MQTT. - Troubleshoot, optimize, and secure applications to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability. - Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, technical documentation, and CI/CD improvements. - Collaborate with product, hardware, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and support strategic technology initiatives. - Evaluate and leverage modern development tools and emerging technologies, including AI-assisted coding tools, to improve development efficiency and code quality. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 7+ years of professional software development experience. - Strong experience with Node.js, C#, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and Single Page Applications (SPA). - Experience with MySQL, DynamoDB, NoSQL databases, and RESTful API development; gRPC or MQTT experience is an asset. - Proficiency with AWS, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines. - Strong experience in Windows and Linux environments; embedded systems experience is preferred. - Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, VS Code, and Cursor. - Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, performance optimization, and development best practices.
