Prairie Community Events is looking for an enthusiastic, community minded Market Director to establish and grow artisan markets, community events, and special events throughout Calgary.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys connecting with people, supporting small businesses, and creating memorable community experiences. Rather than working a traditional 9–5, you'll have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while being supported by an established event brand.

What You'll Do

• Secure and build relationships with local venues.
• Recruit and support vendors, artisans, food vendors and community organizations.
• Coordinate event logistics and planning.
• Oversee event setup, operations and pack-down on event days.
• Ensure vendors have an exceptional experience from application through to event day.
• Represent Prairie Community Events professionally within your community.
• Help grow recurring events and long-term partnerships.

What We're Looking For

• Friendly, organised and self-motivated.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Passion for supporting local businesses and community initiatives.
• Able to work independently and solve problems confidently.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.
• Comfortable attending venues and events throughout the Calgary area.
• Previous event, sales, marketing or customer service experience is an asset, but not essential.

Compensation

This is a commission-based Independent Contractor position, giving you the flexibility to grow your own territory while earning a percentage of the events you successfully organise and manage. The more successful your events become, the greater your earning potential.

This is an Independent Contractor position with commission-based earnings. Income is directly related to the number and success of the events you manage. There is no cap on earning potential, and successful Market Directors can substantially increase their income by growing recurring events within their territory.
