CNC Lathe Operator (Oilfield Threading)
Edmonton, Alberta | Full-Time Permanent | $28 to $34 per hour

Reporting to the Machining Supervisor, you will run the equipment, set your own tooling, gauge your own work, and help keep quality and safety standards high on the shop floor.The ShopYou will work indoors in a modern threading shop running CNC lathes on precision oilfield tubulars. Safety, quality, and teamwork run the floor. Expect noise, metal chips, cutting fluids, and steady handling of tools and tubulars through the shift. Full PPE is required at all times: safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility clothing, and CSA approved boots.What You'll Do
- Run a CNC lathe to cut API and premium tubular connections
- Set up and change cutting tools, inserts, and specialized tooling
- Operate the tubular loading system
- Read part drawings and blueprints, then plan the best machining sequence
- Gauge threads and inspect finished parts with handheld precision instruments
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and keep your equipment clean
- Mentor junior operators and support the shop safety program
- 1 to 3 years running CNC equipment in an oilfield, industrial, commercial, or construction shop
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with precision measuring tools
- Ability to read blueprints and machining drawings
- Sharp attention to detail, because every connection has to hold
- Initiative to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Team player who follows safety procedures every shift
- Experience machining oilfield tubular products or API thread connections
- Red Seal Journeyman ticket
- WHMIS and First Aid certification
