A leading global mining company is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Administrator to join its team in Goderich, Ontario — the largest underground salt mine in the world. This is a fully onsite position supporting the Environmental, Health & Safety team in maintaining compliance, coordinating programs, and ensuring the effective administration of site-wide safety initiatives.
The RoleReporting directly to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager, the selected candidate will provide administrative and operational support across multiple EHS functions. Working closely with the broader EHS team, this individual will coordinate training activities, maintain compliance documentation, monitor key performance indicators, and support regulatory reporting while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of site health and safety records.
This position requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and maintain EHS documentation, training records, databases, and compliance reporting to support the site's Environmental Health & Safety Management System.
- Provide administrative support for Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, including meeting coordination, action tracking, and documentation.
- Generate reports, monitor corrective actions, maintain regulatory correspondence, and support compliance with Ministry of Labour and environmental requirements.
- Support EHS program administration through training coordination, budget tracking, emergency response documentation, contractor support, and departmental scheduling.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain environmental and safety performance data, supporting KPI reporting, Zero Harm initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting Health & Safety or Environmental programs within a mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
- Working knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation, mining regulations, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and experience working with digital databases, document management systems, and EHS software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands and work both independently and collaboratively.
