Job Title: Labourer

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Labourer to support daily operations on an active work site. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of general labour and site support duties, helping to maintain safe, efficient, and productive operations. This role requires a valid driver's license, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment under varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and maintain road signage and traffic control devices throughout the site.
  • Perform dewatering activities using water pumps and related equipment.
  • Operate and fuel light equipment safely and efficiently, including pumps, skid steers, aerial work platforms (AWPs), telehandlers, fusing machines, mini excavators, and compactors/packers, as required.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on vehicles, pumps, and equipment.
  • Transport crew members safely around the work site using company vehicles.
  • Provide skilled labour and operational support to construction, maintenance, and site operations crews.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, material handling, site preparation, and general work site activities.
  • Carry out general labour duties as required to support site operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, site rules, and environmental requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, and crew members.
  • Support multiple work areas and adapt to changing operational requirements while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safe and efficient site operations.

Additional Duties

  • Perform all other duties as reasonably assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

  • Valid class 5 driver's license and clean driving record suitable for site vehicle use.
  • 5 years' experience labouring in mining, quarrying or construction environment

Experience / Skills

  • Ability to work safely in a heavy industrial or mining/construction environment.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting, carrying, and performing manual labour in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working around heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of traffic control and road signage installation is an asset.

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation
The expected hourly range for this position is CAD $28 - $34 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
