Fraser Valley Fire Protection has been keeping British Columbia safe since 1977. We're a full-service fire and life safety company sprinkler systems, fire alarms, backflow preventers, kitchen suppression, emergency lighting, hydrants, monitoring, and more. We take our work seriously, and we're looking for someone who does too.

We're growing, and we're looking for a BCWWA-certified Backflow Technician to join our field service team.

About the Role

You'll test, inspect, repair, and install backflow prevention assemblies across the Fraser Valley, keeping our customers' water systems safe and compliant. This is a hands-on field role with daily travel to customer sites we aim to assign work within reasonable proximity to your home base where possible.

What You'll Do

  • Test, inspect, and maintain backflow prevention assemblies in accordance with BCWWA standards and applicable codes
  • Diagnose assembly issues and complete repairs or replacements as required
  • Complete clear, accurate test reports and deficiency notes in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with sprinkler fitters, the Service Manager, and on-staff electricians to keep work moving
  • Communicate professionally with customers you're often the face of our company on-site
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and your company vehicle
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures


What You Bring

Required

  • BCWWA Backflow Assembly Tester certification
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working at various job sites

Assets That Will Make You Stand Out

  • BCWWA repair/cross-connection control endorsements
  • ASTTBC RFPT certification
  • Plumbing or sprinkler fitting trade experience
  • Additional fire prevention or building code knowledge


Details

  • Hours:MondayFriday; overtime and on-call as required; overtime paid in accordance with BC Employment Standards
  • Location:Based out of Abbotsford; service area runs Chilliwack to Surrey with projects from Hope to Whistler
  • Pay:$30$37/hr
