Project Manager – Water & Sewer Salary: $120,000+ (based on experience and formal education) Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong Water & Sewer background to oversee underground infrastructure and civil construction projects in the Edmonton area. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing large-scale civil projects, preparing estimates and bids, coordinating project execution, and maintaining project budgets from start to finish. - Manage water, sewer, and civil construction projects from planning through completion.
- Prepare accurate project estimates, bid submissions, and tender packages.
- Perform quantity and material take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate and schedule large-scale construction projects to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
- Track project budgets, costs, forecasts, and overall financial performance.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities to improve project efficiency and profitability.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, site supervisors, and internal project teams.
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders.
- Monitor project progress to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and project closeout.
- Promote and enforce company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in civil construction.
- Proven experience managing Water & Sewer infrastructure projects.
- Extensive experience preparing estimates, bids, and tender submissions.
- Experience coordinating and scheduling large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of project budgeting, cost analysis, and cost tracking.
- Experience performing quantity and material take-offs.
- Proficiency with Bid2Win is required.
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
- Experience with additional estimating or project management software is considered an asset.
