Heavy Equipment Forklift Operator

We are currently seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our client's welding and fabrication facility. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing inbound and outbound freight while safely moving large, heavy, and oversized materials throughout the warehouse and production areas. As part of a small, fast-paced team, you will operate a variety of heavy equipment, including:

• 5,000 lb and 10,000 lb counterbalance forklifts
• 10,000 lb Combi Lift
• 9,000 lb CAT telehandler

Materials handled can weigh up to 9,000 lbs and measure up to 60 feet in length, requiring excellent spatial awareness, precision, and safe operating practices.

Responsibilities:

• Safely load, unload, move, and stage incoming and outgoing materials.
• Operate forklifts and heavy equipment in both warehouse and production environments.
• Transport oversized and heavy steel materials safely and efficiently.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities.
• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report any concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Valid forklift certification (expired certifications are acceptable; refresher training will be provided).
• Previous experience operating counterbalance forklifts and moving large, heavy, or oversized materials.
• Construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial experience is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working with materials weighing up to 9,000 lbs and up to 60 feet long.
• Strong attention to detail with a safety-first attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
