The Opportunity

The Manager of Corporate Logistics is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Fleet, Facilities, Metering, Purchasing and Stores departments for InnServices, InnPower and all related companies. The Manager is responsible for the corporate programs in these areas including policy and procedures, asset management, capital replacement planning, procurement and acquisition, preventative maintenance planning and repair, service standards and revenue protection. With Responsibility for managing the companys fleet and facilities to ensure maximum efficiencies, and compliance with company policies and government regulations. In addition, the manager is responsible for overseeing the utility metering program including installation, repair, maintenance, and revenue. As well the manager is responsible for all site security and fire monitoring, as well as Purchasing and Stores overseeing the day-to-day relationships throughout the utility supply chain from an operational and tactical perspective in order to ensure a continuous availability and replenishment of stock through prudent inventory and cost control.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for annual budget and capital projects for all areas within the department (approximately $2,500,000.00 annually).
  • Responsible for the security and safety of all facilities owned by IPC, IUI and all related companies, including but not limited, building fire, security and automations systems, and the safety and security of all staff at these locations.
  • Responsible for the procurement and acquisition strategy and corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Oversees the Management of Corporate assets (procurement and disposal).
  • Prepare short- and long-term business strategies, performance management initiatives, and quality assurance programs.
  • Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures, including vehicle utilization, and fuel management.
  • Oversees the preventative maintenance and repair schedule/programs for all service areas within department.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce carbon emissions for fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Oversees the legislated vehicle and equipment inspections and liaise with ministries regarding regulatory standards (licensing, registration, and inspections).
  • Oversees the develop and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date monthly fleet management records and reports, including vehicle inventory, maintenance schedules, and fuel usage.
  • Ensure that the facility is maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Oversees the planning and organization regular maintenance and repairs.
  • Responsible for records of all maintenance work.
  • Responsible to identify facility issues and schedule and oversee services.
  • Oversees and/or performs facility inspections and correct non-conformances.
  • Responsible for implementation of new procedures, research and strategies that relate to the operations, maintenance, and safety of the facilities, fleet. Purchasing and corporate inventory items as well as department team members.
  • Ensure policies are kept current as per relevant legislative and guideline changes.
  • Responsible for the effective and efficient allocation of financial resources within the facilities portfolio; Monitors, analyzes and optimize financial performance.
  • Oversee the quality of work, work schedules, and safety of all staff within the department.
  • Manages the requirements of equipment to ensure it is properly maintained, calibrated, and replaced.
  • Oversees the management of metering data points within the system and analyze data to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and implement metering policies and procedures.
  • Work with Supply Chain to ensure forecasted requirements are provided in a timely manner to support Lead times.
  • Oversees the preparation for annual ESA audit to evaluate and ensure compliance.
  • Oversees associated IESO audits as required.
  • Manage department resources, employee performance and ensure team members receive the appropriate training required for their roles.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that metering and billing revenue protection activities are being conducted in the best interest of the corporation.
  • Responsible for performance coaching/appraisals and the recruitment, development, training, engagement, and retention of team members to adequately staff the required work.
  • Oversee the training of the team on new processes, software, equipment, and metering advancements as they are implemented.
  • Oversee metering asset inventory.
  • Oversee all Building Automation Systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Core Capabilities:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field or suitable equivalent.
  • G Class Drivers License in good standing and reliable vehicle to use for travel/site visits throughout InnServices and for us on corporate business (AZ License is an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal, project/time management, analytical, communication, presentation, public/media relations, problem-solving, negotiations, and staff leadership and supervisory skills with a strong aptitude for adapting to change.
  • Computer literacy utilizing word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software and the Internet.
  • Ability to stay up to date with current technology trends and advancements.
  • Exceptional ability to think critically, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems, determining causes of operating errors and use good judgment and decision-making skills when evaluating potential actions for implementation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events; and to respond on call to emergencies as required.
