We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Administrator to join our team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple entities across Ramudden Global North America. This role ensures compliance with federal and provincial legislation, company policies, collective agreements, and payroll best practices while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process weekly payroll for multiple unionized and non-unionized companies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legislative requirements.
- Administer payroll transactions, including regular and overtime earnings, retroactive adjustments, taxable benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
- Review and reconcile payroll data to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare and submit statutory remittances, including source deductions, WSIB, Employer Health Tax (EHT), union dues, group benefits, and RRSP contributions.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of payroll records, reports, and employee files.
- Generate and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and confidentially.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation, T4 reconciliations, PIER reviews, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Prepare payroll working papers and supporting documentation for annual external audits.
- Assist with payroll reporting, special projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other payroll, accounting, and administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Payroll Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (PCP) designation, or actively working toward designation, is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience in a multi-company environment.
- Experience processing union and non-union payroll is considered an asset.
- Experience with ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, or similar payroll systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
