Civil Construction Carpenter / Skilled Construction Worker
Reports To: Foreman / Superintendent
Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting heavy civil construction projects including bridges, culverts, concrete structures, road construction, and related infrastructure works. This position requires versatility and a willingness to assist across multiple project activities while maintaining Nova Construction standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, modify, and remove concrete formwork.
- Support bridge, culvert, retaining wall, and concrete structure construction.
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Assist with concrete placement, finishing, curing, and protection.
- Perform layout and measurement activities as required.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely.
- Assist with excavation, grading, drainage, and site preparation.
- Perform rigging, material handling, and equipment support activities.
- Collaborate with operators, labourers, mechanics, survey crews, and supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bridge, culvert, retaining wall, and concrete structure construction.
- Concrete formwork systems and reinforced concrete construction.
- Marine infrastructure and heavy civil construction projects.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and layout information.
