Packaging Supervisor Chocolate Manufacturing
Location: Brockmann's Chocolates, Delta, BC

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Summary:

Brockmanns Chocolates, a premium chocolate manufacturer located in Delta, BC, is seeking an experienced Packaging Supervisor with a strong background in food manufacturing, preferably in chocolate production. This role is responsible for overseeing production efficiency, team management, cost control while ensuring compliance with food safety and quality assurance standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in scheduling, quality control, audits, and strong communication skills. A strong mechanical aptitude is also required to assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.This role is straight afternoon shift. About 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

Key Responsibilities: Packaging Supervison:

  • Supervise daily chocolate manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, adherence to recipes, and achievement of production targets.
  • Ensure strict adherence to production protocols.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate inefficiencies in production processes.
  • Supervise maintenance and production support staff.
  • Enforce KPIs.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Maintain and enforce strong quality control procedures to meet GFSI, WorkSafe BC, and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with food safety and manufacturing regulations.
  • Monitor and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all production staff follow food safety protocols and contribute to a culture of quality and compliance.

Cost Control & Efficiency:

  • Monitor and analyze production costs, raw material usage, and waste reduction strategies to improve efficiency.
  • Work with the sales and finance teams to ensure accurate costing of production outputs.
  • Optimize resources, labor allocation, and material utilization to minimize operational costs.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage and mentor production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Train employees on proper manufacturing procedures, quality standards, and workplace safety.
  • Ensure effective communication between QA, production, sales, and management teams.
  • Promote a safety-first mindset and actively participate in health and safety initiatives within the facility.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in chocolate production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, efficiency optimization, and cost control.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with QA procedures, audits (GFSI, WorkSafe BC), and food safety compliance.
  • Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
