General Manager, Upscale Restaurant & Terrace Concept

About the Opportunity

A well-established luxury hospitality organization is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a high-profile restaurant and terrace concept in a premier urban hotel environment.

This senior leadership role is responsible for the overall performance of the venue, including guest experience, financial results, operational excellence, and team development. The successful candidate will combine hands-on leadership with strategic oversight, ensuring exceptional service standards while driving profitability, engagement, and long-term growth.

While the primary focus is one flagship outlet, the role may also support additional food and beverage operations or special projects as business needs evolve.

Leadership & Culture

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing management and service team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.
• Oversee talent development, succession planning, and internal growth opportunities.
• Ensure effective onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management programs.
• Maintain a visible leadership presence and provide ongoing support to team members.

Guest Experience & Service Excellence

• Champion a refined and consistent guest experience reflective of luxury hospitality standards.
• Monitor and improve guest satisfaction metrics through proactive service enhancements.
• Analyze guest feedback and implement continuous improvements.
• Build strong relationships with guests, industry partners, and the local community.
• Ensure service recovery processes are effectively executed when required.

Financial & Business Performance

• Maintain full ownership of outlet financial performance, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Drive performance through labor management, menu optimization, inventory controls, and purchasing discipline.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and reporting requirements.

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily operations to ensure exceptional service and quality standards.
• Maintain a strong presence during service periods, supporting both guests and team members.
• Manage scheduling and labor planning based on business needs and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor, and employment regulations.
• Collaborate closely with culinary, sales, marketing, and other operational departments.
• Oversee the maintenance and care of operational assets and equipment.

Systems & Business Acumen

• Utilize operational and financial reporting tools to support decision-making.
• Leverage data to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and revenue generation.
• Demonstrate proficiency with restaurant management, reservation, labor management, and POS systems, or the ability to learn new platforms quickly.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience within upscale, luxury, or lifestyle food and beverage operations.
• Proven success managing large teams, financial performance, and elevated guest experiences.
• Experience in high-volume restaurant environments is strongly preferred.

Education

• Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred.

Eligibility

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $95,000 – $105,000
• Performance incentive: Up to 15% annual bonus
