Tasks:
Support the mandate of identifying and protecting Intellectual property
Support all change management initiatives
Liaison with technical experts and conduct patent searches and extract findings/summaries.
Work with experienced engineers and support technology harvesting for individuals and groups
Assist in raising invention disclosures for senior staff members
Support invention disclosure reviews
Support new Inventors through the patent filing process
Make, refine and update existing data visualization tools
Participate/contribute/deliver presentations in Engineering.
Contribute to patent portfolio refinement
Maintain department website, dashboards & visualization tools
Identify and lead initiatives on periodic upgrades of tools.

This role is based in Mississauga, ON.
The position is a 12 month renewable contract.
Ideal candidates have Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electronics Engineering backgrounds with an undergraduate or graduate degree, knowledge of gas turbine engine fundamentals, and familiarity with the aircraft and aviation industry ecosystem.
You will support identifying and protecting Intellectual Property, conduct patent searches, extract findings/summaries, and assist in raising invention disclosures for senior staff and supporting patent filing.
Experience with MS Office tools, Power BI (asset), Matlab (asset), and patent searching tools like Derwent and PatSnap is considered valuable.
You will gain exposure to all engineering disciplines, visibility of new products and technologies, and experience with patent searching and visualization tools, along with opportunities to present in Engineering and contribute to patent portfolio refinement.
This is a full-time position on a 12 month renewable contract, with responsibilities spanning patent processes, data visualization, and collaboration with engineers to support technology harvesting and invention disclosures.
