BelPak is currently seeking an HR Generalist to support our Mississauga, Brampton, and Brantford facilities, which are located in the West GTA. The role will be based at 450 Export Boulevard with travel required to all supported facilities. This is an ideal role for an individual who has experience in all various Human Resources job functions. This position will give you autonomy to contribute to the attainment of the HR department goals. This position is expected to travel to all sites on a monthly basis and work full-time in-office.

Position Details:

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary Human Resource contact for assigned facilities and escalate any concerns accordingly.
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance, as appropriate.
  • Support the full recruitment cycle by working with the hiring Manager in developing job postings, sourcing candidates, shortlisting candidates, conducting pre-screens, arranging interviews, creating employment contracts, completing background checks, references, etc.
  • Responsible for the onboarding process for all new hires, including ensuring all new hire paperwork is received and completed correctly, communicating to the payroll department, ensuring all required training is completed, and ensuring 45-day and 90-day performance review processes are completed on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Coordinate and provide training sessions, as required, and maintain the training matrix.
  • Assist in the Health and Safety program, as required.
  • Assist with benefit administration and input of benefit deductions in payroll accordingly.
  • Support all internal and external audits.
  • Support internal investigations related to HR issues.
  • Provide guidance to Supervisors/Managers for discipline letters and provide additional support as required.
  • Complete employee-requested letters.
  • Work closely with Managers to ensure timely updates for employees on leave of absences and wage increases are received according to the wage grid for hourly employees (3 months and 1 year).
  • Maintain records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leaves, turnover rates, etc.) in both paper and database formats and ensure all employment requirements are met.
  • Assist with Time and Attendance, as required.
  • Plan and schedule meetings, HR events, etc.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist in ad-hoc HR projects as assigned by the Director.
  • Use Dayforce capabilities to increase efficiencies and provide run reports to support Managers.
  • Follow all Company health and safety policies and procedures and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Support other functions as assigned.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • HR certificate or degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar HR role.
  • Experience with Dayforce preferred.
  • Experience in the same or similar industries is an asset.
  • CHRP designation preferred.

Key Technical & Behavioral Competencies:

  • Self-starter who works well under pressure and has great time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Great interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work well both independently and with multiple departments as required.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Sensitivity to confidential information.
