PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program ofPearson LIFT(Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canadas largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Environmental Student will support the environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across the PACT program. This role focuses on assisting with site inspections, tracking environmental metrics, and ensuring construction activities align with all regulatory and program-specific environmental standards.

This is a 12-16 month co-op student opportunity starting in September 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Environmental Manager and Coordinators with daily and weekly site environmental inspections.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of environmental compliance data and sustainability metrics.
  • Assist in monitoring critical site controls, such as erosion and sediment measures, during active construction.
  • Help maintain environmental records, permits, and documentation in program systems (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • Participate in environmental awareness training and toolbox talks with site teams.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Currently enrolled in an Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related post-secondary program.
  • Strong interest in environmental management within heavy civil or infrastructure construction environments.
  • Excellent data tracking skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced project team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with site teams and management.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
