A growing Ontario law firm is seeking a motivated Junior Associate Lawyer to join its litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer in the early stages of their career who is looking to further develop their expertise in personal injury litigation while receiving direct mentorship from experienced practitioners.

The successful candidate will have approximately 1–3 years of post-call legal experience, ideally gained in plaintiff personal injury, insurance defence, or a related litigation practice. This position offers hands-on involvement in files from inception through resolution and provides significant opportunities for professional growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and assist with a broad range of personal injury matters
Conduct legal research and prepare written legal analyses
Draft pleadings, motion materials, legal opinions, mediation briefs, and other litigation documents
Attend discoveries, mediations, case conferences, motions, pre-trials, hearings, and trials as required
Participate in settlement discussions and negotiations
Work closely with clients, experts, and opposing counsel throughout the litigation process
Assist with liability assessments, damages evaluations, and medical evidence review
Collaborate with senior lawyers on complex litigation matters

Qualifications

LL.B. or J.D. degree
Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
Prior experience in personal injury litigation, insurance defence, or a comparable litigation practice area
Strong legal research, analytical, and advocacy skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning
Mediation, hearing, or trial exposure is considered an asset
Candidates who obtained their legal education in Ontario are preferred
