Who We Are
The College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC (CCHPBC, or the College) is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the xmkym (Musqueam), Swxw7mesh (Squamish), and slilwta (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The College regulates over 10,000 health professionals, including chiropractors, massage therapists, naturopathic physicians, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, and acupuncturists across British Columbia.
Formed on June 28, 2024, through the amalgamation of four provincial health profession regulators, the College was established as part of the Ministry of Healths initiative to modernize the health profession regulatory framework in B.C. Its primary role is to protect public health and safety by licensing and regulating health professionals and the settings in which they practice. This includes ensuring that every health professional within its purview is fully qualified to provide safe and ethical care.
About This Employment Opportunity
The College is seeking an individual with strong experience in quality assurance, performance measurement, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to develop quality frameworks, lead audit processes, and translate data into actionable insights
to take on the role of Quality Assurance and Standards Lead.
TheQuality Assurance & StandardsLeadis responsible fordeveloping andadvancing a comprehensive qualityand performanceframework that supports the organizations mandate to protect the public through effectiveimplementation and monitoring of Performance Standards,outcomes,and related indicators. This roleleadsthe development and implementation of tools, processes, and measures to evaluate compliance with standards, legislation, and regulatory requirements. TheQuality Assurance & Standards Leaddesignsand supports audit and quality assurance activities, develops andmonitorskey performance indicators (KPIs), andprovidesdata-driven insights to inform continuous improvement, operational effectiveness, and accountability.
This position plays a critical role in fostering a culture of qualityand continuous improvement across the organization and the broader regulatory system.
It is essential for all College staff to contribute to a public protection mandate, delivering efficient and responsive services that align with the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA) and broader commitments to reconciliation, while supporting the College in meeting its regulatory, strategic, and operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance frameworks, tools, and methodologies to measure compliance withPerformanceStandards, bylaws, andotherregulatoryindictorsdeterminedby the organization.
- Implement, andmaintaina comprehensiveCCHPBCaudit program.Ensure audit programs align withoperationaland strategicpriorities, and risk management frameworks.
- Develop,implementandmonitorkey performance indicatorsand other performance metrics. Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations toteams andleadership.
- Identifyopportunities to strengthen operational processes, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with governance, audit, andoperationaland strategicrequirements.
- Function asagovernmentliaison and other external partners.
- Work collaboratively across departments and teams to advance quality initiatives and ensure alignment with organizationaland strategicpriorities.
- Support and advance initiatives that promote public protection, transparency, andaccountability.
- Demonstrateprinciples of equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-discrimination.
- Contribute to and support consultation processes with the publicandpartners, ensuring diverse perspectives inform standards, policies, and program development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by theExecutive DirectorofStrategy, Quality Improvement andPerformance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ahealth careprofessional with5 to 7 years of progressive experience in Quality Improvement,working in a complex health care organization.
- Bachelors degree in relevant fields such ashealth careprofessional,health administration, public health,orpolicy.
- Demonstrated experienceevaluating programs or processesagainst standards, conducting audits or reviews, andmaking recommendations forcorrective actions to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Experience leading and supporting audits and regulatory reviews, withdemonstratedability to translate standards into practice.
- Proven ability todevelop and implementquality frameworks, tools, or evaluation systems.
- Experience developing and monitoringKPIs and performance metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Awareness of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act(DRIPA)and Action Plan and their application to the work at CCHPBC.
- Knowledge of the social, economic, political, and historical impacts of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples, along with familiarity with Indigenous-specific anti-racism, cultural safety, and relevant foundational documents and legislative commitmentsand how they intersect across the health care system.
- Workingknowledge of the Health Professions Act and the Health Professions and Occupations Act including their application to the work at CCHPBC.
- Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, andaccuratereports, policies, and documentation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlineswithin cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and engagement skills, with the ability tocollaborateeffectively with senior leaders, government partners, andotherinvested parties.
- Strong analytical skillsand attention to detail, with the ability to assess processes,identifygaps, and recommend practical, evidence-based improvements.
An individual who meets either the established formal qualification or the accepted equivalency can be considered equally for this role.
Compensation and Perks
The compensation for this position ranges from $84, 553 to $126,829 annually, based on a 37.5-hour work week. The starting salary will be determined by factors such as the candidates job-related knowledge, skills, experience, the salaries of peers within the same range, market conditions, and other relevant considerations.
CCHPBC offers a competitive compensation package, including health and dental benefits, employee assistance program, Municipal Pension Plan, and paid time-off package. This role requires a minimum of three (3) in-office days per week, with priority given to designated team collaboration days. Work-from-home arrangements are dependent on operational requirements. Other perks include professional development opportunities, and office closures for the 11 statutory holidays in B.C., as well as Easter Monday and Boxing Day.
