Customs Clerk - PAPS

We are seeking an experienced Customs Clerk to join our client, a Transportation company located in Mississauga, ON.

Pay: $21.00/hour

Shift: 3:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing PAPS documentation ensuring customs paperwork is accurate, processed, and cleared
• Identifying and resolving customs issues
• Transmitting documentation and monitoring release status
• Liaising with government departments when additional documents are needed
• Contacting customers to secure paperwork, communicate requirements, respond to inquiries, and resolve inconsistencies
• Inputting data into TMS and customs systems and maintaining accurate recordkeeping
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Previous work experience in a Customs, Brokerage, or Freight Forwarding role within the Transportation/Logistics industry (1-2 years)
• Familiar with PAPS, CBSA, and CBP release processes
• Strong customer service skills
• Knowledge of U.S. import regulations, tariff classification, customs compliance requirements
• Strong computer/data entry skills
• Proficiency with TMS and customs software systems (TruckMate, Customs portals)
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• High attention to detail
• Strong ability to multi-task
• Able to work effectively and meet KPIs in a high volume, fast-paced environment
