This is an opportunity to join a growing business where HR is viewed as a strategic partner—not simply an administrative function. What You'll Be DoingStrategic HR Partnership- Partner with leaders to provide practical HR guidance and coaching.
- Support workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and talent development.
- Help lead organizational change initiatives and support business growth.
- Analyze workforce metrics to identify trends and opportunities.
- Advise leaders on employee relations matters and best practices.
- Conduct workplace investigations and assist with conflict resolution.
- Support performance management, coaching, disciplinary processes, and development planning.
- Promote a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities including sourcing, interviewing, references, offers, and onboarding.
- Assist with workforce planning to meet operational needs.
- Work closely with hiring managers to attract top talent.
- Coordinate onboarding programs and new employee orientation.
- Partner with Payroll, IT, Operations, and Safety to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
- Maintain employee records and documentation.
- Evaluate onboarding effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate employee training initiatives.
- Support leadership development programs.
- Monitor compliance training requirements.
- Promote continuous learning opportunities across the organization.
- Assist with compensation reviews and salary benchmarking.
- Support benefits administration and employee inquiries.
- Help improve HR processes to ensure consistency and business continuity.
- Participate in employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
- Support audits and internal reporting.
- Stay informed on legislative updates affecting employment practices.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety teams on workplace initiatives.
- Support return-to-work and accommodation programs.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
We're looking for someone who combines strong HR knowledge with a practical, business-focused approach.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- CPHR designation (or actively pursuing designation) is considered an asset.
- 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, energy, or project-based environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting both office and field employees.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of Alberta Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Experience using HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office, and applicant tracking systems.
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is considered an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
