Job description:
General Machine Operator / Material Handler
Location: Vaughan, ON
Company: Trimax Employment (Hiring for Client)
Shift: 8am - 4:30pm ( Mon- Fri )
Trimax Employment is currently hiring a General Machine Operator / Material Handler on behalf of our client, a well-established North American leader in manufacturing intelligent building and life safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide general support within the metal shop
- Operate machinery such as brake presses, punch presses, and shears
- Load required tooling into machines
- Produce and inspect parts according to drawing specifications
- Perform basic machine maintenance as required
- Assemble and fit metal plates and sections
- Weld or bolt sections together as needed
- Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines
- Move materials and stock shelves as required
- Unload incoming materials and store appropriately
- Prepare metal items for painting
- Follow instructions from Supervisor/Team Lead
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a metal shop environment
- Experience with welding, punch press, or brake press (preferred)
- Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable working in a noisy industrial environment
- Must have steel-toed safety boots
- Ability to read blueprints
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Counterbalance forklift certification with at least 6 months of experience

- Machine operation: 1 year (required)
- Welding experience required (MIG-TIG)
- Operating a counterbalance (Forklift is an asset)

This is an on-site, full-time position in Vaughan, ON.
The shift is 8am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities include operating brake presses, punch presses, and shears; loading tooling, producing and inspecting parts to drawings, performing basic machine maintenance, assembling metal sections, welding or bolting as needed, and moving materials.
Required: experience in a metal shop, ability to read blueprints, High School Diploma or equivalent, counterbalance forklift certification with at least 6 months of experience, and ability to lift 30 lbs regularly (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
Welding experience is preferred, with exposure to MIG-TIG welding listed among experience requirements.
