The maintenance supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repair, and optimization of underground mobile and fixed equipment. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The maintenance supervisor plays a key role in planning preventative maintenance, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement to support operational reliability and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, ensuring equipment availability and reliability targets are met.
  • Work with Planning and scheduling team, and monitor preventative maintenance (pm) programs.
  • Oversee repair and maintenance of underground equipment, including complex diagnostics.
  • Track equipment utilization, downtime, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in managing inventory and spare parts aligned with maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure timely ordering of parts and materials for breakdowns.
  • Address recurring or critical equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to maintenance personnel.
  • Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with safety and manufacturer standards.
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Prepare reports on equipment performance and team productivity.
  • Collaborate with operations to optimize maintenance planning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade certification as a heavy-duty mechanic (or equivalent) required.
  • Extensive experience in underground mining maintenance.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of underground equipment and repair processes.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
  • Valid driver's license.
