ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prosperity Workforce Solutions is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established Indigenous child and family services organization in, Manitoba. Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary clinical team.
In this role, you will work within a specialized community-based mental health program, providing assessment and therapeutic services to children and youth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to promote resilience, emotional well-being, and school success — all within a culturally grounded framework that honours Indigenous perspectives and practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for children and youth in community and school settings.
- Provide observation, assessment, and intervention for children presenting with mental health concerns.
- Consult with school staff and school-based mental health professionals on strategies related to behaviour, social skills, emotional regulation, and trauma.
- Deliver live, in-classroom coaching to educators and school staff on evidence-based implementation strategies to support student success.
- Provide mental health education to children, families, and caregivers.
- Facilitate class-wide workshops focused on resilience-building, drawing on cognitive behavioural techniques.
- Deliver training workshops across various community and organizational settings.
- Contribute to the team's clinical service delivery, including developing individual service plans and coordinating community resources to optimize mental health outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Master's Degree Occupational Therapy (MScOT/MOT) — from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Current licensure/registration in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory body.
- Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant experience in child, adolescent, and family mental health.
- Demonstrated experience working within the school system.
- Exceptional clinical skills in the mental health assessment and treatment of children and their families.
- Extensive knowledge of provincial mental health community resources and services.
- Strong understanding of cultural and socio-economic factors that shape service delivery.
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, Indigenous cultures and community-based service models is an asset.
