Schedule: Day Shift (Monday-Friday)About the OpportunityFuze HR Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator on behalf of a well-established precision manufacturing organization serving the aerospace, defence, and advanced manufacturing sectors.This opportunity is ideal for an estimator with a strong background in CNC machining who enjoys analyzing complex manufacturing projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the success of high-precision components and assemblies.What You'll Be DoingEstimating & Quotation Preparation
- Review customer drawings, specifications, CAD files, and bills of materials to determine manufacturing requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for machining, fabrication, assembly, finishing, and subcontracted services.
- Develop accurate labour, material, tooling, and outside processing costs.
- Generate customer quotations while ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend cost-effective production methods.
- Analyze machining requirements, cycle times, tooling needs, and material utilization.
- Support manufacturability reviews and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Obtain pricing and lead-time information from material suppliers and external processing vendors.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and incorporate costs into customer proposals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Work closely with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams throughout the quoting process.
- Support customer inquiries related to quotations and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical insight regarding machining processes and production methods.
- Assist in improving estimating accuracy, costing methodologies, and quotation processes.
- Support initiatives focused on operational efficiency and profitability.
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including milling and turning operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and bills of materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and manufacturing ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in aerospace, defence, or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Certificate of Qualification in Machining.
- College diploma in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Experience estimating fabrication, welding, assembly, and finishing operations.
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- $30.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
