Lead Hand

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Team Lead in the North part of Guelph! This role will be a permanent direct hire.

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Leading production activities and employees, monitoring work stations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Attending production meetings.
• Following the daily production schedule.
• Maintaining supplies for production and completing purchase requisitions.
• Communicating and training all Health & Safety policies, SEP's, and work instructions.
• Providing input for performance evaluations to the Plant Manager.
• Providing leadership and training for subordinates in all aspects of their jobs, including work instructions and safety.
• Providing documented training records to the designated manager.
• Ensuring safe operation of all machinery and equipment, including good housekeeping geared towards 5S standards.

Experience:

• Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Must have previous manufacturing experience using hand tools.

Requirements:

• Must be comfortable with manufacturing smells, dust, and wearing protective equipment such as ear plugs, masks, and respirators.
• Good planning, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to train subordinates and evaluate competency.
• Ability to delegate and follow up on activities, as well as motivate others.
• Computer literacy.
• Working knowledge of production tooling, materials, and equipment.
• Thorough understanding of WHMIS (training provided).
• Knowledge of all safety aspects of equipment, processes, and materials in use.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valid 3rd party forklift license.

Pay Rate: $23.75/hr
