Millwright Manager

DynaIndustrial is a Saskatchewan-based engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the custom design, manufacturing, repair, and rebuild of heavy industrial equipment. We proudly serve customers in the mining, steel, pipe mill, and offshore oil industries across North America.

We are currently seeking a Millwright Manager to lead our Saskatoon Millwright Department.

This is a leadership position for someone who enjoys developing people, organizing work, driving accountability, and ensuring customers receive quality products on time. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department while building a culture of safety, teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Millwright Manager will lead a team of skilled tradespeople and play a critical role in planning work, coordinating resources, removing obstacles, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop Millwright Department employees.
  • Conduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning initiatives.
Operations & Workflow Management
  • Coordinate daily and weekly shop activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address delays, bottlenecks, and resource constraints.
  • Prioritize work and allocate labour to meet customer commitments and production goals.
  • Coordinate materials, subcontractors, coatings, inspections, and outside services.
  • Manage the movement of equipment and materials throughout the shop.
  • Ensure accurate communication between production, project management, quality control, purchasing, and customers.
Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
  • Promote organization, housekeeping, and efficiency throughout the department.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Participate in planning and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of industrial experience in a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing employees and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using computers, ERP systems, and production management tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification is considered an asset.
