Perform a variety of general painting, preparation, spray painting, brush painting and finishing or
re-finishing to any electric rotating and linear motors, generators, associated components and
equipment, including miscellaneous items like metals, plastics, glass, vinyl and wood.
- Knowledge of different paint brands, types and mixing requirements for particular motor
applications
- Knowledge of different thinners, inhibitors and their proper use and application
- Familiar with regulations and procedures for handling and storage of flammable materials
- Operation, maintenance and use of paint spray equipment in a controlled (paint booth)
environment, selection of spray gun nozzles for required coverage, thickness, smoothness and
adherence and associated instrumentation
- Familiar with motor preparation procedures, old paint removal, blasting, masking and priming
before painting with controlled techniques to ensure consistent quality finishing results
- Knowledge of the following
o Handling of Motors and Armatures.
o Usage of material handling equipment
o Usage of overhead cranes, jib cranes, fork lift and pump trucks
o Able to follow written and verbal instructions
o Structure of coils, insulations, copper wire, bearing seats, wedges, cables and
threaded holes etc.
o Usage of hand tools (metric and imperial)
o ITR's & paper work
- Understanding of Safety concepts and ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System
