Position Introduction:

Katch Kan continues to develop a portfolio of technologies which both optimizes and sustains resource recovery programs internationally.

We are currently seeking an Industrial Sewing Machine Operator (Industrial Seamstress) to support the production of A.C.E. units and other engineered industrial fabric assemblies. This role involves high-volume, precision-based sewing of heavy-duty technical materials in a manufacturing environment.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Read and interpret production work orders, drawings, and sewing instructions
  • Manufacture A.C.E. units and other industrial fabric assemblies
    according to specifications
  • Operate industrial sewing machines (including double-needle machines) to cut, assemble, and sew heavy-duty materials
  • Accurately measure, mark, and prepare materials prior to assembly
  • Assemble multi-component fabric products according to established patterns and specifications
  • Install components such as Velcro, flaps and warning labels.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections in collaboration with QA/QC
  • Ensure finished products meet all company standards before completion and packaging
  • Maintain accurate production tracking and work order documentation
  • Perform basic machine maintenance (needle changes, cleaning, threading, minor adjustments)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety procedures
  • Follow all company safety policies and quality control standards
  • Support continuous improvement in production efficiency and product quality
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Completion of a sewing or textile production course is an asset
  • Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines in a production environment
  • Ability to read and follow technical patterns and work instructions
  • Basic understanding of sewing machine mechanics
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Good hand-eye coordination and visual accuracy (corrective vision acceptable)
  • Strong time management and reliability
