Machine Builder / Assembler Colt Automation is a leader Coil Processing industry. In its 60 years of operation, the company has achieved significant growth. We are currently seeking experienced Controls Engineers to join our team You will bring your great work ethic, and positive attitude. This position requires the ability to fabricate, assemble, and install heavy industrial machinery and subassemblies with precision and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience with mechanical fitting, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, bearings and drive components, machine testing, and final preparation for shipment, while consistently maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities: * Preparation and fabrication of sub-assemblies (cutting, drilling, grinding, tapping, etc). for final installation * Move, align and install subassemblies and components * Fit, modify and assemble pre-fabricated metal parts to build heavy industrial machinery * Install major components such as, servo motors or gear motors, hydraulic assemblies, pneumatics * Must have good knowledge of precision fittings * Know how on installing RINGFEDER locks, needle, roller and taper bearings, pressed fit bearings, sprockets, pulleys, sensors, brackets, orbit motors. * Ability to work with tight tolerances * Cutting, fitting, crimping hydraulic/pneumatic hoses. * Bending, fitting installing hydraulic/pneumatic tubing. * Filling industrial fluids * Performance testing of complete machines. * Prepare units for shipping (add decals, clean, etc). * Maintain a safe and non-hazardous work environment at all times. Ideal Candidate Profile Education: * Mechanically inclined & can read blueprints Experience: * Hands-on experience working with all types of shop tools (mechanic/millwright training an asset) * 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Assembly * Experience working with or servicing heavy equipment, machinery and/or hydraulics is an asset, including servo drives, gear motors, hydraulic service, * Experience with safe rigging and lifting operations, using overhead cranes and chain falls an asset * Able to follow technical drawings and instructions * Ability to work with general machine shop equipment and hand tools * Previous experience reading, interpreting and following electrical power schematics and blueprints. * Pride in work and work environment * Ability to work under tight deadlines * Flexibility, being able to handle multiple tasks * Attention to detail * Team Player, good attitude * Proactive and motivated ** Physically able to work on a variety of equipment (climbing/crawling/bending/stretching, etc.) ** Fast-working, without sacrificing quality ** Able to do basic welding an asset ** Must have own tools Colt Automation was incorporated in 1965 as an equipment manufacturer supplying Coil Feed Line solutions for coil processing to the manufacturing industry.
