Painter

Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Painters to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in residential and/or commercial painting projects and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Painters will be responsible for preparing and finishing interior and exterior surfaces to a professional standard.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, and other preparation methods to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
• Perform drywall repairs including cutting, taping, mudding, sanding, and priming damaged areas.
• Apply paint, varnish, stain, epoxy, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment on residential and commercial projects.
• Install and remove vinyl wallcoverings and wallpaper as required.
• Perform touch-ups and repainting to restore and maintain existing finishes.
• Review project plans and instructions to understand specifications and requirements.
• Follow all site safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
• Use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any issues as needed.

Skills

• Experience with residential painting; commercial painting experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of surface preparation and finishing techniques.
• Familiarity with construction and renovation environments.
• Ability to read and interpret job instructions and project requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistent, high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and clients.
• Commitment to following workplace health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous painting experience.
• Ability to distinguish colours accurately.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
• Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.

Compensation
