Position Details:

· Full-time, Permanent

· Hourly

· On-Site

· Schedule: Monday to Thursday (Day Shift)

· Hours of Work: 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Location: Cornwall Road, Oakville, ON

Summary:

As a Control System Tester, you will support the assembly, configuration, testing, and validation of LED digital display systems within our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will ensure products meet company quality standards and customer requirements by following established procedures, technical documentation, and best practices.

This position works closely with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Quality Control, and IT teams to support production, troubleshooting, product validation, and continuous improvement activities.

The primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

· Perform functional testing, validation, and commissioning of LED digital display systems, embedded control systems, power distribution systems, and communication networks.

· Configure, test, and troubleshoot display controllers, receiving cards, sensors, routers, modems, cameras, industrial communication devices, and associated peripherals.

· Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, hardware, software, firmware, and network-related issues using engineering principles, technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

· Execute test plans, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria to verify system functionality, performance, reliability, and compliance with engineering specifications.

· Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, device drivers, application software, and remote monitoring platforms used within digital display systems.

· Configure network settings, including IP addressing, routing, port forwarding, VPN connectivity, firewall settings, and cybersecurity-related requirements.

· Perform electrical measurements and analysis using multimeters, power analyzers, luminance meters, colour meters, and other diagnostic test equipment.

· Conduct burn-in testing, environmental testing, reliability testing, and system performance evaluations; collect, document, and analyze test results.

· Investigate product failures, determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and provide recommendations for product and process improvements.

· Verify compliance with applicable electrical, electronic, safety, and quality standards, including CSA, UL, NEC, and company specifications.

· Prepare detailed technical reports, test records, inspection reports, and validation documentation for production and engineering teams.

· Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, Manufacturing Operations, and IT teams to support product development, production improvements, and issue resolution.

· Assist with prototype testing, new product introduction activities, and engineering change validations.

· Maintain accurate records within the ERP system and support continuous improvement initiatives through data collection and analysis.

· Follow all company health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Academic Training:

  • Diploma or high school certificate

· Completion of a one- or two-year college program in electrical or electronics engineering technology is an asset.

· Certification in electrical or electronics engineering technology or in a related field is available through provincial associations of engineering/applied science technologists and technicians is an asset.

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing industry

Specific Competencies:

· Experience testing electronic devices and systems.

· Basic understanding of electrical and electronic components.

· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

· Familiarity with computer hardware, software installation, and network configuration.

· Experience using hand tools and electrical testing equipment.

· Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work overtime as required.

· Familiarity with personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.

· Proactive attitude with accountability for assigned tasks and projects.
