The Optician plays a vital role within an integrated optometry practice, providing expert lens fitting, prescription verification, and patient consultation. With high patient contact, the Optician ensures clients receive personalized service in selecting glasses, contact lenses, and specialty optical devices. This role also supports vision testing and maintains equipment while managing inventory and patient records.

Responsibilities

• Fit lenses accurately based on prescriptions
• Verify optical prescriptions for accuracy
• Consult with customers to determine optical needs
• Assist clients in selecting appropriate frames
• Support basic vision testing procedures
• Maintain and calibrate optical equipment
• Manage inventory and process optical orders
• Maintain detailed patient records
• Deliver excellent customer service throughout patient visits
• Perform critical patient triage for ocular emergencies and inquiries
• Administer advanced diagnostic testing, including OCT, retinal imaging, and visual fields

• Experience in optical dispensing and lens preparation
• Strong customer service and communication skills
