Position: Park ManagerParks NB is seeking a Park Manager who will provide overall leadership for the operation of Mount Carleton Provincial Park while fostering a strong, collaborative workplace culture. Reporting to the Director of Park Operations, the Park Manager leads a diverse management team responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of Mount Carleton. The Park Manager oversees financial and operational planning, staff supervision, succession planning, and annual reporting.
Joining the team as a Park Manager means becoming part of a community dedicated to providing exceptional service to visitors, promoting environmental stewardship, and sharing the wonders of New Brunswick's natural heritage.
Responsibilities- Strategic Planning and Operational Management:
- Developing and implementing operations plans.
- Overseeing all day-to-day operations and maintenance of the site, including food and beverage services, accommodations and hospitality services, guiding services, and customer service.
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Providing overall leadership and guidance to a team responsible for the operations of Mount Carleton to ensure exceptional client experience and service delivery.
- Relationship Building and Partnership:
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key partners throughout the community.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with critical partners.
- Labour Relations and Financial Management:
- Managing human resources, including staffing, scheduling, recruiting, training, conflict resolution, collective agreement administration, and performance management.
- Developing capital maintenance budgets and managing capital maintenance projects and strategic initiatives.
- Visitor Experience and Event Planning:
- Directing all aspects of the visitor experience and dealing with issues escalated for resolution.
- Overseeing and directing special events and programming within the park.
- Community Relations:
- Managing relationships with third-party contractors, associations, organizations, and neighbouring communities and municipalities.
You have knowledge and experience in the outdoor sector. You demonstrate strong leadership with your team. You can work remotely with minimal supervision. You also possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and are self-motivated.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration with team members, community groups, and stakeholders.
- Experience in operations, human resources, communications, and financial planning.

Qualifications- A University degree and a minimum of five (5) years of related work experience; or
- A post-secondary diploma of two (2) years in Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism, Parks and Recreation, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience, which includes two (2) years of management experience.
- Considerable experience in using Microsoft Office 365 software and applications.
- Considerable experience and knowledge in the outdoor experience sector.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability and preferred language for assessment on your resume.
- Experience in the tourism industry.
- Experience in marketing and developing experiences.
- Experience in developing community partnerships and initiatives.
- Knowledge of the history of Mount Carleton Provincial Park.
- Salary: $78,546 - $104,494 annually (Pay Band 6).
- Type: Permanent, full-time.
- Location: Mount Carleton, New Brunswick.
