We are a general contractor that provides pre-construction, design-build, and construction management services for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients, we specialize in tilt-up construction. POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team. This is an entry-level position suited for a new graduate who is seeking an opportunity to build a career. At Wales McLelland Construction, we provide opportunities for career growth, training, and development.

Please note that this is an in-office role, and only candidates who can commute to our Richmond, BC office will be considered, as we promote a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs quantity take-offs on various scopes of work.
  • Contact necessary trades and suppliers to obtain bids.
  • Assist in preparing the construction schedule.
  • Develop and maintain sub-contractor and suppliers databases.
  • Assist in evaluating construction rates, subcontract estimates and proposals.
  • Assist in preparing scopes of work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working towards or having completed a post-secondary education with a diploma degree in construction management, estimating, quantity surveying, engineering, or related education
  • 0 2 years related work experience or combination of education and field experience
  • Strong computer skills or experience using estimating software
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office, Timberline and on-screen take-offs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Ability to work
  • Membership in ASTTBC - associate or certified technician levelis considered an asset.
