UBS is hiring an experienced Project Superintendent / Site Superintendent for commercial interior renovation and ICI improvement projects across the GTA and Ontario. This is a field-based, site-leadership role requiring independent project management capability and strong subtrade coordination skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

Job Title: Project Superintendent (Field Operations)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Pickering, ON (field-based; GTA and regional travel required)

Experience Required: 5–10 years commercial construction / ICI renovation

Licence Required: Valid Ontario G driver's licence + reliable personal vehicle

RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction & Site Management

- Oversee full-cycle field management of commercial renovation and ICI improvement projects

- Coordinate subtrades including mechanical, electrical, framing, drywall, and finishing trades

- Manage mobilization, construction sequencing, and project close-out

- Attend and lead site meetings; produce daily site reports and construction logs

- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and scope documents

- Identify RFIs, scope deviations, and change order triggers; escalate promptly

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Enforce site safety in compliance with Ontario OHSA and applicable regulations

- Conduct toolbox talks, pre-task safety planning, and routine site safety inspections

- Maintain Working at Heights and WHMIS compliance across all trades

- Ensure proper handling and documentation of designated substances (asbestos, mould)

Client & Project Communication

- Serve as primary on-site point of contact for clients and property management teams

- Provide regular project status updates to the UBS Project Manager

- Manage client expectations in occupied commercial and institutional environments

- Document deficiencies and coordinate sign-off on substantial completion

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5–10 years of direct field experience in commercial construction, ICI renovation, or tenant improvement

- Demonstrated experience as a lead superintendent, general superintendent, or senior lead hand

- Ability to independently manage commercial projects from start to finish

- Working knowledge of commercial mechanical, electrical, and architectural subtrades

- Valid Ontario G driver's licence; reliable personal vehicle required for site travel

- OHSA compliance; Working at Heights and WHMIS certification required

- Strong written communication skills for site documentation and reporting

- Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Gold Seal Certification (CSC) or equivalent

- Experience in occupied commercial, institutional, or retail renovation environments

- Asbestos Awareness or Designated Substance Survey (DSS) familiarity

- Experience with construction project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, JobTread, or similar)

- First Aid / CPR certification
