Shear Operator

Job Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate mechanical shear machines to cut material to specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret work orders, and track completed orders.
• Measure, inspect, and verify cut materials using tape measures, in metric and imperial.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy, quality, and productivity.
• Effectively use material to ensure minimum scrap.
• Safely handle raw materials and finished products using proper lifting and pulling techniques.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company health and safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production targets.
• Identify and report quality issues, equipment concerns, or safety hazards.
• Other duties as required.
