The Role

Our client is a growing and highly respected industrial services organization specializing in overhead crane inspections, maintenance programs, and technical service solutions for industrial facilities across Ontario.

They are seeking a Business Development Representative to drive new customer acquisition, build long-term service partnerships, and expand market share within the manufacturing, steel, fabrication, infrastructure, and heavy industrial sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional who enjoys relationship building, consultative selling, and working directly with customers in the field. The successful candidate will play a key role in growing the business while helping shape future sales processes, CRM workflows, and customer engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a portfolio of industrial customers across Ontario, focusing on manufacturing facilities, steel mills, fabrication shops, and infrastructure operators
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and relationship development
  • Conduct on-site customer visits to assess equipment, identify service opportunities, and gather information required for proposal development
  • Prepare and present service proposals for crane inspections, preventative maintenance programs, and long-term service agreements
  • Convert one-time service opportunities into multi-year maintenance partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with plant managers, maintenance teams, procurement departments, and safety leaders
  • Collaborate closely with internal service, dispatch, and estimating teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale through project execution
  • Manage account activity, sales pipeline, forecasting, and customer information through CRM systems
  • Maintain pricing integrity while supporting profitable growth objectives
  • Meet and exceed revenue targets while supporting long-term customer retention and account expansion initiatives
  • Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive market activity

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of B2B sales experience within industrial services, technical services, maintenance, construction, or related industries
  • Proven ability to develop new business and manage customer relationships in a field-based sales environment
  • Experience selling service contracts, maintenance programs, inspections, or technical solutions is considered a strong asset
  • Strong consultative selling and relationship management skills
  • Comfortable conducting site visits and engaging with multiple decision-makers within industrial environments
  • Ability to understand technical service offerings and communicate value to customers
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid Ontario driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Ontario
