About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established general contractor with a strong presence across Western Canada and a growing project portfolio in Edmonton. They deliver complex commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, recreation, and multi-family projects, and are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to support continued growth.

This is a strong opportunity for a construction professional who wants to lead meaningful projects, work with experienced operations leadership, and be part of a team known for delivering high-quality work across Alberta.

The Role

The Project Manager will provide overall leadership and management for construction projects, typically ranging up to approximately $50M in value. This role will oversee the full project lifecycle, including planning, pre-construction, execution, cost control, schedule management, client communication, close-out, safety, and quality.

You will work closely with senior leadership, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably, on schedule, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Lead projects from planning and pre-construction through execution, close-out, and final handover.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, change orders, contracts, and risk.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Oversee project teams, including coordinators, site staff, and other project support personnel.

Drive accountability across cost, schedule, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

Review project performance regularly and take proactive action to resolve issues.

Support a strong safety-first culture and ensure project-specific safety and quality plans are followed.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the broader project team.

What We're Looking For

Minimum 5 years of direct project management experience with a general contractor.

Experience delivering commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, recreation, multi-family, or similar construction projects.

Strong understanding of project financials, forecasting, scheduling, contracts, change management, and risk control.

Ability to lead project teams and manage multiple stakeholders.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Technical diploma, engineering degree, construction management education, or trade background with strong project management experience will be considered.

Experience managing projects up to approximately $50M is an asset.
