Senior Accountant
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, year-end audit readiness, job costing and analysis, account reconciliations, preparation of month-end reporting, forecasting and budgeting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance
• Lead month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and variance analysis
• Support year-end audits and act as primary contact for external auditors
• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Perform job costing and project profitability analysis, tracking labour, materials, and subcontractor costs
• Monitor WIP, revenue recognition, and project performance
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with finance and operations teams
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Assist with AP, AR, and payroll review and support
• Perform financial analysis, KPI reporting, and variance analysis
• Develop dashboards, reports, and financial models in Excel and QuickBooks
• Improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools
• Partner with operations to translate financial data into actionable insights

Your strengths include:

• CPA designation (or in progress) with a degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting and month-end close experience
• Experience in construction, project-based, or manufacturing environments is an asset
• Strong knowledge of reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
