Assistant Shop Foreman

Dick's Lumber & Building Supplies, a leading provider of high-quality lumber and building materials, is seeking a Door Production Foreman for Port Kells. As the Production Foreman, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient production processes and timely delivery of orders to our valued customers. This role is responsible for overseeing production operations, managing staff schedules, ensuring order accuracy and meeting delivery time commitments, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement production plans to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.
• Provide work direction, organizing daily tasks and goals to hit both production targets, delivery schedules and commitments while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
• Train, mentor, and supervise production staff, providing guidance and support to ensure a productive and cohesive work environment.
• Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and coordinate maintenance and repair activities as needed.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
• Maintain production records, analyze data, and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare warehouse and oversee annual inventory counts.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in production environment, preferably in the building supplies industry.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in using production management software and systems, plus MS Office applications.
• Sound knowledge of quality control principles and production optimization techniques.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Salary - $55,000 - $65,000
