Manager Yard & Warehouse

Our Burnaby location is one of the region's busiest hubs—supporting residential, commercial, and industrial projects of all sizes.

We are looking for a Yard & Warehouse Manager to lead our operations, support our team, and ensure our customers continue to receive the exceptional service Dick's Lumber is known for.

Pay: CA$70,000 – CA$80,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities of the lumber yard to maintain high customer‑service standard
• Effectively manage unionized workforce including establishing performance standards and monitoring performance against the standards
• Maintain close supervision on stock levels by completing daily tallies and and inventory counts
• Strengthening operational alignment between yard and store teams, union and non-union employees to support seamless customer service.
• Play a leadership role in health &s safety in the yard; serve as the Management Representative on the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
• Manage and respond to union grievance
• Ensure all paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Perform additional job‑related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in lumber industry
• Preference given to candidates with experience managing unionized employees
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and support yard and warehouse staff.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions

• Majority of shift to be spent in lumber yard with exposure to dust, dirt, and varying weather conditions.
• Safety boots required.
• Busy, high‑volume yard and warehouse environment.
