The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, ensuring that all processes related to the storage and supply of explosives are executed efficiently and safely. The role involves planning, resource management and the coordination of operational logistics to meet customer demands while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee the organisation's overall operations for their Emulsion products and services.
- Lead and coordinate all new projects, including pre-implementation work as well as post-implementation reviews.
- Adhering to and being proactive in site safety promotion.
- Analysing blast measurements and assessing performance against a baseline.
- Developing Case Studies, Papers, or Research.
- Work with internal stakeholders to build Product/Service Offering Models and establish implementation workflows.
- Take up product application stewardship.
- Interacting directly with customers across various departments – D&B, Geology, Operations, Geo-tech, IT, Technical Services, and Processing to understand the unique challenges/constraints they operate under and articulate to them how the organisation's solutions address those challenges.
- Training and accrediting customers and other company personnel in the organisation's technologies and products.
- Ensure timely management of support in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum 7 years' of Mining industry experience with knowledge in any of the following areas: Continuous Improvement, Drill & Blast, Operations, Technical Services and/or others
- Proven track record in an Operational/Explosives Mining environment
- Strong experience with emulsion manufacturing equipment, in-hole delivery systems, and storage solutions
- Sound knowledge of applicable legislations such as Mining, Occupational Health and the Safety Act
- Knowledge of Operational Planning
- Knowledge of Quality Management
- Knowledge of Business Administration
- Safety and Compliance Expertise
- Minimum Diploma/Degree in Mining or Chemical Engineering or related qualification
- Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core Certification
- Sound Financial Management
