Project Manager (ISO Certification Readiness)
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba or Canadian Prairies (Remote/hybrid options may be considered within region)
Duration: 12–18 months contract
Engagement Type: Consultant
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Consultant to lead and coordinate an organization-wide initiative supporting ISO certification readiness (e.g., ISO 9001 or relevant standards based on client scope). The role will ensure structured execution of gap assessments, process alignment, documentation readiness, and cross-functional coordination to meet certification requirements.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience managing ISO preparation or certification readiness projects, including working with auditors, process owners, and compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for ISO certification readiness program
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, and governance structure
- Coordinate internal stakeholders across operations, quality, IT, HR, and compliance
- Oversee gap assessments against applicable ISO standards
- Ensure documentation, processes, and controls are aligned with ISO requirements
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with process owners
- Manage risks, dependencies, and escalation pathways
- Liaise with external ISO consultants and auditors as required
- Provide regular progress reporting to senior leadership and steering committees
- Ensure timely completion of deliverables within certification timeline
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience in complex organizational environments
- Direct experience supporting ISO certification readiness or ISO audits (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of ISO frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001, or similar)
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders in regulated or process-driven environments
- Strong knowledge of process mapping, documentation standards, and governance structures
- PMP or equivalent certification considered an asset
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently in a consulting capacity
Additional Requirements
- Must be based in Winnipeg or the Canadian Prairies (or willing to travel as required)
- Availability for a 12–18 month engagement
