PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canadas largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Procurement Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the procurement function for a large-scale aviation infrastructure project. The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for vendor pre-qualification, tender issuance, commercial evaluation, and contract award to ensure all procurement activities align with project timelines, budget, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate brings experience in complex construction environments, strong commercial and technical acumen, and the ability to work collaboratively across functions to ensure that the procurement activities are aligned with project objectives and deliver best-value solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the preparation and issuance of procurement strategies and tender packages for goods and services required for project execution.
  • Pre-qualification of bidders and manage the tender process using electronic quotation systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all technical, commercial, and schedule requirements are captured in tender documentation.
  • Perform commercial evaluations of bids and contribute to vendor selection by presenting best-for-project options.
  • Maintain clear communication with vendors and internal departments regarding procurement timelines, clarifications, and deliverables.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of vendor contracts, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Track procurement activities, including vendor performance and delivery timelines, to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase orders using Oracle and ensure alignment with project controls and financial systems.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings and coordinate the handover of executed contracts to the subcontracts administration team.
  • Monitor and address procurement-related risks and escalate concerns appropriately to project leadership.
  • Support stakeholder and client reporting by compiling procurement metrics and progress updates.
  • Maintain organized procurement records and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and actively participate in procurement-related working groups.
  • Deliver procurement outcomes aligned with total cost of ownership and value-for-money principles.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position will be based at our office in Mississauga, Ontario, with visits to the Airport site as required. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday during regular office or site hours. At times, operational needs may require work outside these hours, with reasonable notice provided. All schedule or oncall adjustments will comply with applicable employment standards legislation. It is mandatory for all employees to complete a Criminal Background check and successfully attain a Restricted Access Identity Card (RAIC) upon joining the company.

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • P.P., SCMP or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
  • 35 years of procurement experience in construction or large infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with procurement software systems and enterprise tools, such as ACC BuildingConnected and Oracle.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
  • Understanding of procurement regulations, best practices, competitive bidding, and contract terms.
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate risk, and recommend procurement strategies aligned with project objectives.
  • Experience working in collaborative environments with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Familiarity with GTAA or other major airport procedures is considered an asset.
  • Eligibility for RAIC clearance required.
