Dynamic Reforestation Ltd. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will oversee full-cycle accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial and regulatory requirements, and provide financial analysis to support business operations and strategic planning.

Employment Details

· Position: Senior Accountant

· Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

· Start Date: As soon as possible

· Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

· Compensation:

- Wage: $42.00 per hour, with performance-based bonus opportunities depending on company performance

- Vacation: paid 21 days per year

- Health benefits – $3,000 per year

· Language of Work: English

· Work Location: 303-570 Granville Street, Vancouver, BC V6C 3P1

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

· Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of journal entries and account balances

· Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing

· Prepare and file statutory remittances including GST/HST, PST, payroll source deductions, and WCB premiums in compliance with federal and provincial regulations

· Analyze project costs, financial performance, and operational expenditures related to reforestation contracts and provide financial reporting and recommendations to management

· Assist with corporate tax filings and related financial reporting requirements

· Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain internal controls

· Support budgeting and forecasting activities by analyzing variances and preparing financial reports

· Maintain and improve accounting systems and ERP software, including Acumatica

Required Qualifications

Education & Designation

· Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation issued or recognized in British Columbia, Canada

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field

Experience

· Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience

· At least two (2) years in a senior or supervisory accounting role

· Experience preparing full-cycle financial statements and managing period-end close processes

· Experience with project or job-costing accounting, preferably in construction, forestry, environmental services, or field operations

· Experience managing external audits and working with public accounting firms

· Experience with Canadian payroll, tax filings, and multi-provincial compliance requirements is considered an asset

Technical Skills

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modelling

· Experience with accounting software such as Sage 50, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Acumatica, or similar ERP systems

· Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and ASPE

· Familiarity with payroll software is an asset
