At myAbode, we operate one of the largest real estate transaction processing platforms in Canada, handling 30,000+ transactions every year across thousands of agents. That scale has given us a front-row seat to how real estate actually works where the friction lives, where errors happen, and where automation can fundamentally change the game. Now we're rebuilding the system from the ground up.

Every deal that moves through our platform has a financial thread running through it and our finance team owns the infrastructure that keeps that thread intact. We're building the systems, controls, and processes to support our growth and underpin how real estate transacts in Canada for the next decade. Most Controller roles ask you to maintain a system someone else built. This one asks you to build it.

myAbode is looking for a Controller to build and lead the financial operations function at the heart of our growing organization. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, this role goes beyond traditional accounting you'll own the end-to-end finance operations infrastructure, from treasury and cash management to internal controls, payroll, and deal processing workflows. You're a hands-on operator who brings both rigour and pragmatism to the table, with a track record of optimizing finance processes across complex, fast-moving environments. At myAbode, you'll have real scope to improve how we operate and the leadership access to make it happen.

What You'll Build & Own

• A controls framework that's operational, not just documented
• A clean, reliable month-end close and reconciliation process
• AP/AR operations that run smoothly at scale
• A dynamic rolling forecast that keeps leadership ahead of the curve
• Finance operations across treasury, procurement, and sales workflows
• Deal processing workflows that are efficient, controlled, and scalable
• Treasury and cash management infrastructure
• Payroll administration in partnership with external providers
  

Who You Are

• CPA with 7+ years of progressive experience including time in a high-growth or early-stage environment where you built, not inherited
• You've designed controls frameworks and stood up finance operations from scratch
• You find broken processes and fix them without being asked
• You're comfortable in ambiguity and make sound decisions with incomplete information
• Technically fluent you evaluate tools, care about data integrity, and know how systems should work
• Real estate or proptech experience is a strong asset
• You translate complexity into clarity for leadership, for your team, for the business
