System Administrator, Level 3 – On-site in Timmins Ontario

Timmins, Ontario | Full-Time Permanent
Hybrid (Home Office + On-Site Client Support)

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Level 3 On-Site System Administrator to support technical environments across the Timmins region.

This is a senior technical role that combines advanced troubleshooting, systems administration, infrastructure support, and client-facing technical service. You will provide a blend of hands-on on-site support and remote systems administration while serving as a senior escalation resource for complex technical issues.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced technical professional who brings strong troubleshooting capability, sound judgment, and a client-focused approach to technical service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Technical Support

  • Serve as the primary local technical resource for on-site client support in the Timmins region
  • Resolve escalated Level 3 technical issues
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Deliver timely in-person support when physical presence improves resolution outcomes

Systems Administration

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, Multi-Factor Authentication, and Conditional Access
  • Manage user and device lifecycle administration
  • Support endpoint and Windows Server administration
  • Maintain security, access controls, and operational consistency across supported environments

Infrastructure & Network Support

  • Troubleshoot and support Windows endpoints, servers, and core network infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN connectivity, wireless networks, routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Perform equipment deployment, replacement, and configuration
  • Conduct site assessments and support infrastructure implementation activities

Project Delivery

  • Participate in system deployments, upgrades, infrastructure improvements, technical migrations, client onboarding, and security remediation initiatives
  • Support post-implementation stabilization and technical optimization

Documentation & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including client notes, asset inventories, runbooks, network diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base records
  • Support operational consistency through disciplined documentation and adherence to technical standards

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Collaborate closely with technical colleagues and project teams
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience
  • Strong systems administration background
  • Advanced troubleshooting capability
  • Experience supporting multi-site technical environments
  • Strong Microsoft 365 administration expertise
  • Windows Server and endpoint administration experience
  • Strong networking fundamentals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently

Additional Requirements

  • Must reside in Timmins, Ontario, or within approximately 30 minutes driving distance
  • Valid Ontario G driver's license
  • Reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
  • Ability to transport and install technical equipment
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Assets

Experience with:

  • Managed services or multi-site technical environments
  • Security and compliance-focused technical environments
  • Microsoft security administration
  • VoIP systems
  • Documentation platforms
  • Technical automation or scripting
  • French language proficiency
  • ITIL Foundation certification is a strong asset

Work Model

This is a hybrid role requiring:

  • Home-office based remote work
  • Regular on-site attendance at Timmins-area client locations
  • Occasional evening or weekend support as required
  • Participation in maintenance windows and urgent support response when necessary
